FAQs About Mental Health and Wellness Services in Southfield, MI

How do I know if I need therapy?

Recognizing the need for therapy can sometimes be challenging, but common signs include persistent feelings of sadness, anxiety, or overwhelmed, as well as difficulty managing daily responsibilities or relationships.

If you find yourself struggling to cope with life's stresses, feeling emotionally drained, or experiencing negative thoughts that interfere with your happiness, it may be time to seek professional support. Consulting with a therapist at the Center for Integrative Psychology can provide clarity and help you better understand your feelings while guiding you on the path toward improved mental health.

How many therapy sessions are typically required to see results?

Most people begin to see changes in the first 8 sessions, but tend to stay in treatment. People see greater progress when they have 2-3 sessions per week. The average length of treatment is 40 sessions. Our therapists will work with you to assess your development throughout the process.

Do you accept insurance?

We are on the panel for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan PPO and Aetna for reimbursement for psychotherapy. Insurance will not cover neuromodulation or QEEG.

What is the difference between traditional therapy and neurotherapy?

Traditional therapy typically emphasizes psychological techniques, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, to facilitate emotional and psychological healing. In contrast, neurotherapy employs advanced technology to target and modify brain activity directly, aiming to enhance mental functioning.

While both approaches can be beneficial individually, neurotherapy offers a unique method for improving symptoms that may not respond as effectively to traditional therapeutic techniques.
